The spiritual path

Spiritual life is read from the moksha houses (4, 8, 12), the 9th (faith, guru, dharma), the 5th (mantra, devotion, past merit) and the 8th (the occult and transformation). The key planets are Ketu (detachment), Jupiter (wisdom, the teacher) and Saturn (renunciation and discipline). The D20 is the chart of spiritual practice, and the Atmakaraka and Karakamsha show the soul's direction.

MeditationKetu or Saturn linked to the 12th; a calm, well-placed Moon.
Guru and mantraJupiter and the 9th for the teacher; the 5th for mantra and worship.
Mysticism and the occultThe 8th and 12th with Ketu, Saturn or the Moon.
RenunciationFour or more strong planets in one sign, or Saturn linked to the Moon and 10th, in the classical "pravrajya" yogas.
Dharma and karmaThe 9th (what is right for you) and 10th (what you do) working together.
LiberationKetu in the 12th, or in the 12th from the Karakamsha, is the classical sign of a soul near moksha.
