Why we built it
Most astrology sites hand you a paragraph and ask you to take it on faith. You cannot see where a reading came from, whether it used your birth time at all, or why the same chart produces a different answer somewhere else.
AstroMatch4u was built the other way round. The astronomy is computed properly, the interpretation follows a fixed rule set rather than a mood, and every score shows the factors, weights and reasoning that produced it. If you disagree with a reading, you can see exactly which rule you disagree with.
How a chart is cast
Your birth place is geocoded to coordinates and a time zone. Your birth moment is converted to universal time, and planetary longitudes are computed from the Swiss Ephemeris — the same astronomical library professional Jyotish software runs on.
Positions are sidereal, under the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, which is the Indian standard. Houses are whole-sign, as classical Parashari practice expects. From the longitudes we derive each planet's rashi, its nakshatra and pada, its dignity, and its navamsa position.
Two vargas, each read on its own terms
The D1 rashi chart is counted from the ascendant. The D9 navamsa is counted from its own ascendant — the navamsa lagna — because a divisional chart is judged from its own rising sign, not borrowed from the rashi chart. Both charts, the exports and the scoring all use that same frame, so the picture and the numbers agree.
How a reading is scored
Each of the 75 calculators is its own rulebook. A score is assembled from weighted components — planetary dignity, house occupancy, house lords and where they sit, Parashari aspects, nodal contacts and the navamsa — and each component is a fixed lookup applied identically to every chart. Nothing is adjusted after the total is reached.
The whole chain, not one planet
The model does not stop at "Mars means drive". It follows the chain planet → rashi → nakshatra → nakshatra lord → where that lord sits. Mars in Scorpio in Anuradha is read as Mars through its own sign and then through Saturn, with Saturn's own placement deciding whether that filter reinforces the reading or drains it.
An empty house is not a weak house
Where a house has no planets in it, it is still read — through its lord, that lord's dignity, placement and company, the aspects falling on the house, and the same house in the navamsa. Treating an empty house as zero is the most common way an automated reading goes wrong.
What the readings are — and are not
The astronomy is real and checkable. The interpretation is symbolic. A score describes features of a chart under a traditional rule set; it is not a measurement of a person.
There is no scientific evidence that birth charts predict personality, behaviour or compatibility. We think the tradition is interesting and worth modelling carefully, and we would rather be straight with you about what that does and does not amount to.
Astrology shows possibilities. Your actions shape outcomes. A birth chart represents potential patterns, tendencies and possible life scenarios, rather than a fixed destiny. Your karma, decisions, efforts and circumstances influence how you experience those possibilities.

Your privacy, briefly
Your Google account to sign you in — we receive only its email address, so there is no password to invent or reuse — and your birth details. Nothing more. The session expires after five minutes of inactivity. Your place of birth and birth moment are sent to two external services in order to cast the chart, and nothing is sold or shared beyond that. The Privacy Policy lists every field and every recipient.
